Dimitra Delavinia is a Geotechnical Engineer at GR8 GEO. Her work experience includes site characterization and development of idealized ground profiles, development of design ground motions through spectral matching, site response analyses, development of static and dynamic springs for piles and shallow foundation design.
As part of the GR8 GEO team, she has been involved in various projects including the 32km-long Bataan Cavite Interlink Bridge in the Philippines and a Joint Industry Project developing 1D tools for the earthquake analyses of monopiles supporting offshore wind turbines. In addition, Dimitra has made significant contributions to the development and upgrade of several in-house tools used for the site characterization, static and seismic design of deep foundations and processing of site response analysis results.
Dimitra received her Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2019. Her thesis was about the load-displacement curves of pipes embedded in liquefied soil using FLAC2D and was supervised by Professor Achilleas Papadimitriou. In 2022, she received her Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Delft University of Technology. As a graduate research student at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, she studied the 1D modelling of the seismic response of monopile foundations for offshore wind turbines using OpenSees, under the supervision of Dr Federico Pisanò.
