Konstantinos Tzivakos is a Geotechnical Engineer at GR8 GEO. He has worked on several projects involving geotechnical design of various structures. In 2017 he completed his PhD thesis in NTUA on the “Numerical investigation of laterally loaded piles in clayey soils” using ABAQUS under the supervision of Professor Michael Kavvadas.

 

Before joining GR8 GEO in 2021, he was occupied as a geotechnical engineer in the Engineering department of Archirodon NV, where he worked on the geotechnical design of several EPC infrastructure projects, including the Upgrade of facilities at Port Tanajib in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the New Phosphate Port at Laayoune in Morocco. His contribution mainly involved the numerical simulation of critical soil-structure interaction cases, the design and supervision of pile driving and pile load testing as well as the quality control of various geotechnical design documents. His consulting experience also includes numerical analyses for the design of pile foundations, tunnel support and retaining structures.

 

Recent projects he has worked on include the site characterization and geotechnical foundation design for various onshore facilities at an LNG Import terminal in Southeast Asia, for a couple of power plants in Europe and for the Bataan Cavite Interlink Bridge in the Philippines.
